John Theodore
co-PRESIDENT
John is a third year from Lake Forest, IL pursuing a double major in Architecture and Economics with a minor in Architectural History. He joined VUREC in the fall of his second year and has previously served as the Co-Head of Finance, Events and Promotions. Last summer, he interned at Wingspan Development Group in Chicago and this summer will be interning with CBRE in Chicago. John is also VP of New Memeber Education for the Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity at UVA. In his free time, he enjoys watching Chicago sports games, playing pickup basketball, and spending time with family and friends.
Aiden yaphe
HEAD of programming
Aiden is a second year from Newton, MA, majoring in Economics with a minor in Real Estate. He joined VUREC during the fall of his first year and now serves as the Head of Programming, helping to organize impactful events and initiatives for the club. Beyond VUREC, Aiden is actively involved in SEED Consulting, competes in intramural basketball and softball, and is passionate about digital music production. As both a creator and mentor, he teaches local kids and teens how to produce their own songs and play instruments back home and in Charlottesville. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing, and watching the best team in the NBA—the Boston Celtics.
Ramses Perez
Co-head of finance, Events and Promotions
Ramses Perez is a third year at the University of Virginia, and joined VUREC in the fall of his second year. As a member of the Finance Academy and the Commerce Cohort, he explores various facets of business and finance. Also co-founder of BloomSpark Digital, an online advertising company, he has experience in marketing and entrepreneurship. Ramses is majoring in Finance on the Real Estate track. Beyond academics, he expresses his creativity through music-making during his free time, as well as experimenting with culinary arts.
Cole Evans
co-Head of Operations
Cole is a second year from Marlton, NJ, studying Architecture with minors in Real Estate, Urban Planning, and General Business. He joined VUREC in the spring of his first year and currently serves as the Co-Head of Operations, managing operations of the club on a day-to-day basis. He will be studying abroad in Greece this summer, and later interning at JLL in Richmond, VA. Outside of VUREC, he is involved in the Cavalier Symphony Orchestra, is a representative on the School of Architecture Student Council, and is part of the professional architecture fraternity, Alpha Rho Chi. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, swimming, hiking, and traveling.
SPENCER SHANK
CO-Head of MEMBER EDUCATION
Spencer Shank is a second year from San Mateo, CA, majoring in Commerce with minors in Statistics and Data Science. He joined VUREC in the spring of his first year, and currently serves as a Co-Head of Member Education. Last summer, he interned at a sell-side advisory firm specializing in car dealerships and a venture capital firm focused on health software. Outside of VUREC, he is involved in DSP, volunteers at a local middle school through Madison House, and plays on UVAClub Pickleball team. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, watching the Golden State Warriors, and playing football with his friends.
Lily Bernstein
co-PRESiDENT
Lily is a third year at the University of Virginia, pursuing a major in Economics with a minor in Real Estate. She joined VUREC in the fall of her second year and has previously served as the Co-Head of Operations. Outside of VUREC, Lily is also the Advancement Intern at Madison House. This summer she will be interning at Invesco on their real estate team in New York City. In her free time, Lily enjoys spending time with friends and family, yoga, and cooking.
Liam Spears

Liam is a third year from Albuquerque, NM, majoring in Finance on the Real Estate track and minoring in Economics. He joined VUREC in the spring of his first year and previously served as the Co-Head of Member Education. Last summer, Liam interned at Commonwealth Commercial Partners in Richmond, VA, and this summer will be working with Eastdil Secured on their Investment Banking team in New York City. Outside of VUREC, Liam is involved with the UVA Barbell Club as well as Madison House. In his free time, Liam enjoys lifting weights, playing soccer, and spending time with friends.
Ella Kate West
Co-head of finance, Events and Promotions
Ella Kate West is a second year from Baltimore, MD majoring in Commerce and minoring in Religious Studies. She is currently serving as Co-Head of Finance, Events and Promotions. This summer she will be interning at Access Holdings in Baltimore. Outside of VUREC, she is involved in the McIntire Investment Institute, Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity and Habitat for Humanity Club. In her free time she enjoys running and hiking.
Yianni Kocaqi
CO-head OF OPERATIONS
Yianni is a second year from Queens, NY, majoring in Commerce. He joined VUREC in the fall of his second year, and is currently serving as the Co-Head of Operations, where he manages the communications and public relations of the club. Outside of VUREC, Yianni is part of the One Generation Network and Madison House. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, hiking, playing poker and cooking.
Sam Solliday
CO-Head of MEMBER EDUCATION
Sam is a first year from Poughkeepsie, NY majoring in Statistics. He joined VUREC in the fall of his first year and currently serves as the Co-Head of Member Education. Outside of VUREC, he is involved in the Hullabahoos a cappella group, SEED Consulting, is the on Engagement Committee of the Association Council and plays on UVA’s Club Tennis team.
Antranig Kasbarian
Head of External Affairs
Antranig is a second year from Fairfax, VA studying Finance and Economics. He joined VUREC in the spring of his first year. He has worked as an Investment Analyst at Dover Advisors based in Richmond, VA and as a Private Equity and M&A Analyst at Elios Media Group based in New York City). He was involved in the creation and operation of the popular Instagram account, @trillionaireestates. Outside of VUREC, Antranig is involved with the Armenian Cultural Student Association, the nonprofit TAMID Group and Madison House.
